About Francesca
I was born in Bari, Italy, the second most important economic city in Southern Italy. At the age of 18, I obtained my classical ballet degree from the Royal Academy of London, specializing in the RAD method. After completing my classical degree, I transferred to Rome where I lived for 9 years and dance professionally, perfecting my technique in contemporary dance/modern. While in Rome I completed 2 degrees, the first in Art Literature and Philosophy from University of Roma Tor Vergata-, and the second in Journalism from University of Roma Tre. Due to various dance-related injuries, I found an extended passion for Yoga and Gyrotonic® in Rome at The White Cloud Studio. In 2012, I transferred to San Francisco where I became a certified yoga instructor at Yoga Tree SF, and I have since continued to advance my practice studying/teaching through out the Bay Area and now New York. Co-founder of KAFRA Collective, a contemporary dance company based in NYC.
I am also a Certified Gyrotonic® instructor, constantly updating my teaching I obtained Level 1 in San Francisco and Level 2 in New York City, Specialized Equipment Gyrotoner®, Archway & Jumping Stretching Board. I found Joy in my work helping to connect people with their bodies and learn how to listen to their bodies. As a dancer, I am passionate to bring the love I have for this Art in everything, in Yoga and Gyrotonic®, but never missing the integrity of each discipline. At the moment, I am a student at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, IIN class 2022/23.
